Sackville Festival of Early Music Job Announcement

Job Announcement.

 

The Sackville Festival of Early Music seeks a dynamic individual to provide professional creative and administrative leadership necessary for implementing a musical vision aligned with the organization’s mission. To complement their role as Director, thesuccessful applicant will have formal training in music, possess strong leadership and communications skills, which they will deploy to work closely with our dedicated board of directors.

Key skills and responsibilities include:

 

• Artistic planning of a three-concert annual festival and related outreach concerts in local schools and an adult care facility.

• Management of budget and contracts in collaboration with the Board Treasurer.

• Grant writing and fundraising in collaboration with the Board President and Vice-President.

• Cultivation and maintenance of strong, collaborative relationships with key community and festival stakeholders, including the Mount Allison Department of Music, performers, volunteers, funders, host organizations, and members of the media, in collaboration with the Board of Directors.

• Website management, ticketing, and publicity including creation of social media posts in the months leading up to the festival.

• Supervision and mentorship of a paid student intern.

 

We are looking for an arts leader:

• Who is organized, a problem-solver, and who will communicate in a professional manner with all stakeholders.

• Who has a proven track-record writing successful grant applications.

• Who has experience handling budgets, ticketing, and online platforms.

• Who possesses an understanding of our Tantramar community.

 

Considered an Asset (but not required):

​

• Fluent in spoken and written English and French.

• Experience with volunteer development.

• Experience with early European music.

​

Salary: An annual salary of $5,000–6,000 (subject to negotiation and with possible increases pending successful management of the festival).
